I picked better life moving after discussing my need with the woman who returned my call. Everything was set for a Sunday afternoon pick up and delivery of a pool table i had purchased. The window they gave me was 2:00-3:00 window. I arrived at about 2:10 to the seller's house. Waited until almost 3:45 with no contact from the moving company. So not only did they make me wait around they also made the sellers waste their time. I tried calling the office yet got no response even though it said on their site they were open. I would never use this company for any moving needs. Apparently the customer doesn't matter to this company. I figure now I will have to fight to get my deposit returned.

This moving company is aptly named Better Life Moving. I hired them through the thumbtack app. Professional from the beginning, response time was fast and I was able to schedule with not much lead time. Communication was impeccable including budget friendly costs and just taking this move head on. Both apts had tricky parking but that didn't stop them from pulling their very large moving van right up to the entrances. They also disassembled and then reassembled my canopy bed. They broke down two A/C's, full kitchen, three bedrooms, living room and outdoor patios and put it all back together again at my new apt!

Great job! Very responsive and professional. Price was a little high...but I did call last minute...during the busiest moving time in Boston! It was reasonable compared with the competition. And they didn't get Storrowed! :D

I had to do an emergency move at the end of July and I called Better Life Moving one day before my move. I initially went with them because they were the cheapest movers but in terms of quality they were better than other movers who I have usually paid far more for. They came on time, moved everything quickly, were very handy with the pieces of furniture that needed disassembling, made sure not to scratch my floors, and rounded down to the nearest minute for the cost (unheard of in the moving industry - most people either round up to the nearest quarter, or the nearest hour). I've seldom had experiences where folks go above and beyond to really ensure a great quality of service. This was one of those.

Better life moving showed up on time (maybe even a minute early) with two people to move a couch down two flights and another up. The second couch they brought up was not easy to maneuver—legs would not come off and the space was tight. Initially they thought they would have to pull it up a level outside and through the patio door. Their creativity and ingenuity had them manage to make it through the front door which was incredibly impressive considering the space they had to work with! And, they did this all with no damage. The two folks were incredibly respectful, punctual and just all round nice people. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

Very responsive and professional! Immediate response after inquiring about a (sort of) last minute job (for one day later). U received a very competitive quote (another company that reached out after asked for double what they quoted!) Upon arrival, there were some hiccups with the space vs. scale of the item(s) being moved (refrigerators), resulting in them needing to dismantle some parts to fit through doorway (which they’ve graciously done without any complaints). They were very professional, courteous and efficient. I couldn’t ask for a better experience! I would highly recommend them and absolutely not hesitate to use them again!

Here you will find the most common questions answered by the Better Life Moving Team

Travel time is the time for our team of movers to get to your first address from our warehouse plus the time to come back from your second address. It is calculated based on the hourly rate. We do not add traffic into the calculation as we understand that some areas of Boston can get extremely busy during a certain hour and we do not want you to be paying over for that.  Our CRM uses a GPS in order to determine the travel time. Travel time is added to the amount of hours spent on your project itself (loading, unloading, and in between the addresses). 

Travel time is individual for each client and will be based on the distance between their addresses and our warehouse plus the hourly rate they are getting. 

The hourly rate includes all the protective materials for your belongings to eliminate damage, such as shrinks, wraps, blankets, tapes as well as all the expenses related to the truck, such as gas, mileage, tolls.

Packing supplies are not included in the hourly rate and will be charged per item based on the amount being used.

No, our company does not charge extra for the stairs. The Better Life Moving Manager is going to get all your information regarding the stairs and the amount of items you have in order to determine how many movers will be needed so you do not have to worry about extra fees associated with your stairs. We also make sure that the team is equipped with all the necessary tools and equipment for your items so no damage will occur.

Yes. Better Life Moving has a 2 hours minimum charge policy that includes travel time. 

For example, if you have a small project that will take around 1 hour to complete and your travel time is 1 hour, you just completed the minimum requirement.

Our team will wrap every single piece of your furniture to make sure it is protected. Once loaded into the truck, they will use the straps to keep all your items in place.

Yes. Our company  has its own storage facility where you can safely leave your belongings. We do offer individual storage units of different sizes depending on the amount of items you have. 

Our storage facility has a 24/7 security system, each unit is equipped with A/C and professionally cleaned using all the guidelines in between the clients. 

You can speak to our customer service team and they can help you in determining what size of storage is the most appropriate for you.

We accept:

– Cash
– Debit/credit cards with an additional 3% service fee charge
– Zelle
– Paypal with an additional 3% service fee charge
– Venmo with an additional 3% service fee charge 

Please note that at this moment we do not accept checks.

Yes. We do require a $100 deposit in order to book your reservation. It is applied to your service once the job is completed.

 Yes, we take various projects including those that do not require a moving vehicle, such as furniture rearrangement within the building. We are here to assist you with any furniture moving needs that you might have regardless of whether a moving truck is required or not.

Tips are not required but very appreciated.

Long distance moves have a flat cost for the service. The rate system and travel time are not applied in these cases. 

The cost will be determined based on the amount of items you have, the distance between your current and future addresses, as well as expenses related to the truck and labor. 

Once everything is carefully analyzed and determined, the manager will give you a flat rate for the service.
